The Academy Improvement Review Process is held formally each year with each school, at which the point in time rating (POINTER) is agreed. The POINTER criteria are set out below. Academies which are green follow our maximum scheme of delegation set out in a separate document. Academies which are below green follow this minimum scheme of delegation.

Some progress is being made but not yet securely on track to move ‘up’ to RI/Good/Outstanding within the required time frame. Enhanced support.
Bespoke reduced scheme of delegation applies. HT PM may sit with DCEO. May have budget authority removed.
3 Air meetings

Insufficient travel
Insufficient progress is being made to secure the next level (RI/Good/Outstanding) within the required timeframe. The school may be in decline. Critical response &/or enhanced support from other DCAT schools required.
Reduced scheme of delegation applies. HT PM by DCEO. Budget responsibility sits with Trust officers. Full action plan written within 15 days of AIR meeting.
