Values and Ethos

Our belief is that learning should be captivating, exciting and enjoyable. We actively encourage our children to be imaginative, and our teachers are highly skilled in creating learning environments in which every child has the opportunity to understand how they can realise their potential, providing dynamic and engaging activities.

Play is also an essential teaching tool to establish the importance of teamwork and social interaction and to instill an awareness of sharing. Our learning areas are energetic, spacious and fun and we have the children’s work displayed throughout the school.

We teach etiquette and manners and this year we are extending those skills as part of the British Values element of the curriculum.

We want our children to foster a lifelong love of learning and truly believe that every member of staff within our team is responsible for supporting the children in this goal.

At Lanesend Primary School, we are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all children, staff, families and carers irrespective of race, gender, disability, belief, sexual orientation, age or socio-economic background. We are determined to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and ability to participate fully in school life.

We tackle discrimination through the positive promotion of equality, by challenging bullying and stereotypes and by creating an environment which champions respect for all.

At Lanesend Primary School, we believe that diversity is a strength which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit us.
